Ministry Development Coordinator

Pratima Sukrah

Pratima Sukrah (called Pretty) is the last of nine children and the first to be saved in her family. Her father was a Christian, though not committed, and her mother was a Hindu. Her mother had vowed she would die a Hindu. However, she willingly sent Pratima and her brother Robin to Sunday school.  It was there that Pratima decided to serve Jesus. Even though the gospel was not presented clearly, she knew in her heart that Jesus was the true God and the only one who could save her.

Excited about Sunday school, Pretty shared with her mother all that the pastor taught her.  A radical for Christ from childhood, Pretty told her mother, “If you don’t stop praying to all those gods you will go to hell and perish in the fire.” Those were the words her mother remembered when, in her late 50’s, she received Christ.  Over twenty years later, Pretty’s mother is her strongest prayer supporter.

In 1996 Pratima attended a Child Evangelism Fellowship® training course, Teaching Children Effectively® Level 1.  It was through this course that God gave her a heart for reaching children for Jesus. She became a volunteer with CEF® and in 1997 came on staff. She became an instructor and trained others to evangelize and disciple children.  She was the Good News Club® and missions coordinator for CEF of Guyana.   Her heart has always been in missions and it is her passion to share missions with the children and to urge them to have a vision for the world.

Not satisfied to merely teach about missions, Pratima followed God’s call to become an overseas missionary. In 2008, she joined the CEF North America/Caribbean regional team as ministry development coordinator.  She mentors national CEF leaders and helps them strengthen their outreach to the children. In 2008 she served in Belize and in 2009 to present she serves in St. Lucia. God has another assignment prepared for her in 2010. This time she will pioneer CEF in the country of Grenada. Pratima will promote the ministry, train teachers, set up Good News Clubs, recruit workers and do whatever it takes to establish CEF in the country. It is a big task, but with God, all things are possible.
