John and Mary Lee Hines took an early retirement to begin an adventure with God. John, a former pilot, had a vision for being a captain of another kind of craft, a sail boat. While visiting with Child Evangelism Fellowship® missionary, Janet Snyder, God seeded an idea in the hearts of the Hines. He called them to be missionaries to the Caribbean. They sold their house and belongings, took CEF® training, did a CEF internship in Florida and bought a sail boat. Now they are on their way to their first assignment in the Caribbean, the US Virgin Islands.
The Hines will dock in St. Croix for however long it takes to promote and establish the ministry of CEF on the three US Virgin Islands. John made a preliminary trip to St. Croix with CEF regional director, Steve Groome. They met with many pastors and were met with great enthusiasm. They will hold training sessions, speak to church leaders, do direct evangelism with children and disciple them in the Word of God.
Pray for their safety as they sail as it is not an easy life. Pray for divine appointments and open hearts to the ministry of CEF. Pray for God to raise up a full-time CEF worker for each of the islands.
