Susie Cantrell - Volunteer

Susie is originally from West Palm Beach where she grew up on the sandy beaches of Florida’s east coast. She graduated in 1967 from Palm Beach Community College receiving a degree in Dental Hygiene. Susie returned to college in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Clearwater Christian College in 1998. In 2002 she and her late husband, Larry, moved to Murphy, NC where serving as volunteer directors, they established the Far Western Mountains Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship® in North Carolina reaching three counties.After receiving her Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling from The Masters College in 2006, she worked as Director for the Woman’s Enrichment Center (CPC) in Andrews, NC.

Susie has enjoyed working with CEF® since the 1990’s teaching Good News Clubs® and 5-Day Clubs®, training Christian Youth In Action® young people and acting as camp counselor. She says, “It seems like I have always been involved with CEF…I know wherever I go, I look for opportunities to be involved somewhere with children and CEF. It’s just apart of my life whether I am in the Ukraine, NC, Florida, or as in August 2010 on Grand Cayman Island!”

Susie has 2 sons, 2 grandchildren, and 8 step-grandchildren. She enjoys anything that involves outside activity, such as hiking in the mountains of NC or swimming in the Gulf of Mexico with her yellow lab, Savannah! Moving to NC inspired her artistic side as she enjoys painting with watercolor and acrylics…especially portraits of her grandchildren.

Her love for children and sharing the gospel has opened many opportunities, not only with her family, but with her church and the community as she has led women’s Bible studies, counseled women and children, taught school, and trained volunteers both in Crisis Pregnancy Centers and Child Evangelism Fellowship since the 1990’s.

It is truly a privilege to be apart of God’s ministry through CEF in sharing the gospel with the children of the Caymans!”
